Golden Bells of Atlanta   Atlanta’s Premier Community Handbell Choir

Our 2024 Concerts

Nothing says the holidays like Christmas music presented by the Golden Bells of Atlanta -- Atlanta’s premier community handbell choir. Established in 1995, we are a unique and entertaining group that includes ringers from all parts of Atlanta who bring over 465 years of combined ringing experience to the tables.  Our group has performed over 155 concerts over the last 27 years and has recorded 4 CDs.  Our Christmas concert will include a variety of musical styles including classical, traditional, sacred, and secular.  The repertoire includes full handbell choir, small ensemble and solo ringing. Join us as we ring in the season through the beautiful musical sound of handbells.

Plan to buy some CD’s as gifts. We hope to see you at one of these venues.

We hope you can join us for one of our Christmas Concerts:

T'was the Night of Golden Bells
T'was the day of the concert and throughout the church hall,
Time was approaching for our arrival call.
The tables were ready for the bells to be set.
Was everyone here, Roxanne started to fret.
Tommy and Marci arrived with all the bells in tow,
Was Rhonda here yet, did anyone know?
Brooke and her camera followed Nato and his gear.
Sarah came with the little rainstick, which you could hardly hear.
Crisanne was here with the mallets and the music in the crate,
Jo and Sara followed behind, our numbers were now at eight.
Judy and Lea came in, helping Frank with his bell set,
Suzy and Bill were at the info table, was Rhonda here yet?
Our warm-ups began and we rehearsed through each song,
We all left to change clothes; the concert time won't be long,
Snacks, drinks, and a prayer circle, now it's time to walk down the aisle,
We line up and go, while Frank yells, "and remember to smile."
A new easy piece, (Franks dressing song) of Little Saint Nick,
An eight bar phrase we keep repeating, Frank, you'd better be quick.
Only one time through the phrase, is that sleigh bells I hear
It's Belvis, it's Belvis, he's really here.
With white jump suit on and covered in bling,
He approached the bell table, ready to ring.
The Bellvettes were all the ready, feather boas on, chimes in hand,
Nato playing the bass bells, Belvis yells, "You ready, my man?"
White Christmas, Blue Christmas, and Carol of the Bells by the quartet,
Now, back to the large group, we're not done yet.
It's time now to take you for a ride in the sleigh,
Funny Christmas hats on our heads and ending with the horse's neigh.
From the audience's standing ovation, another song from us you can coax,
Looney Tunes for our encore..."That's all folks."
